Chapter - 2.2 Shift & Scale Border Gradient
Shift Border Gradient Center could be applied to Blend Corners and Shape Burst gradient types. X% and Y% control the position of the center gradient point shifting overall border gradient across the border image. X moves the center spot horizontally across the image and Y moves vertically. Relative coordinate system starts at the top left corner of the image and bound to X=0 and Y=0 and ends at the bottom right corner and bound to X=100 Y=100. By specifying various relative points to X and Y, you essentially move the gradient center across the border image.

Scale Border Gradient helps to equalize color transition at each side of the border image for the Shape Burst border gradient type when image shape is not a square.

When the width of the image is substantially higher than height for instance, then gradient transition for shape burst is stretched at the right and left side of the image. To compensate and equalize gradient color transition, check the Scale box. All 4 sides of the border image would have approximately the same color transition amount. Amount of compensation may vary depending on the width of each border side. In addition to Scale you may need to apply Shift Center for evenly spread gradient.

Note: The width of the image is almost 5 times higher than the height. Therefore border gradient is automatically scaled in accordance with the shape.
